This new section of the website has been added for parents and the community of Birchville School to have the opportunity to be kept up to date with the latest happenings in Education. Currently Education in NZ, and globally, is going through many changes as the world we live in, and our children are growing into, has changed dramatically and will continue to at an ever increasing rate.
Education in schools has long been based on models that were designed in the 18th century around the time of the industrial revolution. The problem with this is that we no longer live in a world in which this is suitable and what may have worked in the past is no longer suited to the present and most certainly not suited to the future.
You will most likely see education taking new shapes and structures, teachers will be finding ways to teach your children in ways that they will learn best.
In this part of the website there will be research and lots of other ideas for you to read about. If you have any further questions about what you read on here or are seeing happening around the school or in the classroom don't hesitate to approach our staff and find out more.
